Software, event sourcing and Rust

I'm a software developer from Den Bosch, in the Netherlands. During office hours I mostly write Java, currently at Alliander. Before and after, it's Clojure, Rust and whatever else catches my interest.

The thread through most of it is event sourcing. I built an event store on Kafka (bkes), worked with Axon (bank-axon-graphql), and these days I'm building skilj, an event-sourcing library for Rust on Postgres. I've spoken about this at Kafka Summit, GraphQL Summit (now Apollo Summit), GraphQL Conf and BOB 2021.

About this blog

I write when I have something to say, not on a schedule. Most posts come out of things I built or ran into at work, so expect concrete examples rather than theory. Most of it is about software, but a book review or a view on politics and society may show up as well.
